The food that I am going to make is pancakes.

Independent Variable: The substitute for cold water Dependent Variable: Taste and feel of the pancake Constant: The original recipe

Control: The pancake batter and heat

Original Recipe:

  1. Heat pancake griddle to medium heat. Lightly grease.

  2. Measure 1 cup of pancake mix and ⅔ cup of water (or substitute) Whisk together. Pour onto the griddle in small circles.

  3. Cook for 1- 1 ½ minutes on each side or until golden brown.

The substitutes for water I’ll be using is milk and almond milk.

Hypothesis: I think that having water gives off a bland taste for pancakes due to water having no actual taste.

Original:

Dad: Basic, not sweet Sister: Oily, good

Me: Just a plain pancake

Milk:

Dad: Fluffier, not sweet

Sister: Thicker, chewier, she likes Me: Fluffy, sweeter than original Almond Milk:

Dad: Smell like cake mix, fluffiest, sweetest, best one yet

Sister: tastes like cake, best one yet

Me: sweet, good, my best one, very fluffy
